Certain Monster Hunter Rise DLCs will be removed – PlayerAuctions Blog (2024)

Monster Hunter Rise made many collaborations since its release, and one of the most popular ones would be the Sonic the Hedgehog and Universal Studios Japan DLCs. Unfortunately, Capcom has announced that this content has had enough time on the game, so removing it from the downloadable content is high time. If you haven’t obtained the Sonic Costume or the Azure Star Blade, you still have a few more days to get it.

Which Collabs Are Ending?

Capcom announced last year through their social media platforms that they are delisting three different collaborations from the game. Their removal means that new players can no longer download them, but gamers who already have them can still enjoy these DLCs. Here are the following collabs that will be removed from the game’s downloadable section:

Sonic the Hedgehog

  • Event Quest: Gotta Hoard Fast! – “Sonic Costume” Palico layered armor, “Canyne Tails” Canyne layered armor, Sonic Figurine, Knuckles Figurine, and Tails Figurine.
  • Even Quest: Super Shady Look-alike – “Sonic Wear” Hunter layered armor.

Universal Studio Japan

  • Even Quest: USJ – Shrine Showdown! – “Azure Star Blade I” Hunter weapon, “Azure Era Wyrmbow I” Hunter weapon, and “Azure Age” Hunter armor set
  • Event Quest: USJ – Arzuros Onslaught! – “Azure Era” Palico armor set, “F Azure Era Fan” Palico weapon, “Azure Era” Canyn armor set, and “C Azure Era Wyrmblade” Canyn weapon.
  • Downloadable Palico: MEOW LIMIT!

Sengan-en

  • Downloadable Palico: Yasu

These DLCs will be available until January 21, 2023, so players have less than two weeks to grab these collabs before they go away forever. Gamers should note that even if they downloaded this content before, they won’t be able to re-download them. This delisting of collabs is a sign that MHR is starting to wind down on its update.

What to Expect from Monster Hunter Rise Moving On

MHR has consistently added new content since it first launched, and it poured more new DLCs after the release of the Sunbreak expansion. These are either free or locked behind an MR/HR requirement. Some of the most popular monsters, like the Bazelgeuse and Teostra, came to the game as DLCs. Sunbreak also introduced many creatures, content, and areas for hunters to explore.

MHR held its last digital event for the game on June 202. This signified the end of the content cycle for the Sunbreak. It would make sense that Capcom wanted to finally wrap up on MHR since they announced the impending release of Monster Hunter Wilds. This new installment will be a sequel to Worlds but adopt some of Rise’s most popular features.

While Monster Hunter Rise won’t be holding any digital collabs in the game itself, Rise did make a crossover with Raid Shadow Legends. Plarium and Capcom partnered to introduce new champions to Raid that are based on MHR. These units won’t be anyone we know but will have elements inspired by various monsters and NPCs.

The collaboration will feature five new champions for Raid Shadow Legends. The only unit we are currently aware of is the Rathalos Blademaster, which can be acquired via a specialty royalty program. The other four can be obtained via special-time limited events. The collaboration runs from January 9, 2024, to March 5, 2024.

What Do We Know About Monster Hunter Wilds?

Monster Hunter Worlds and Rise have seen an increase in player base after the announcement of MH Wilds. Both games have reached record-breaking levels, which is surprising since MHW stopped getting content since 2021. Gamers were given a sneak peek of what players should expect from the upcoming Wilds.

We don’t have any accurate information about Wilds because the Gamer Awards only showed a trailer. Capcom hasn’t released any official posts discussing the upcoming installment. However, many players have been speculating based on what they saw from the video.

Many believe Wilds will be a direct sequel to Worlds since it is the most popular title in the franchise. The new game will take on most of the features from the 2018 installment, but it will also adopt some popular things from Rise, like rideable mounts. It is unknown if wirebugs will also make an appearance in Wilds.

Many people are most excited about the prospect of the game being an open world. The Monster Hunter Franchise has been known for featuring instance-based explorations and fights. Wilds becoming open-world is seen as a necessary step for Capcom to introduce something new to the series and to make it feel unique.

While we wait for further details about Rise and Wilds, gamers should ensure that the DLCs will be delisted on January 21. Download all three collabs before they are gone forever so that you can enjoy having Sonic the Hedgehog outfits. New digital content will come to Rise, but players must wait for further updates.
