Chocolate Baked Guinness Donuts Recipe with Irish Cream Glaze (1)

When St. Patrick’s Day rolls around we tend to think of several traditional items in the food and drink category to add to the celebration.

For food we traditionally think of corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread, and all sorts of green colored foods.

When it comes to drinks, right at the top of the list is Guinness, Bailey’s and Irish Whiskey. This tasty St. Patrick’s Day treat incorporates both of the first two St. Patty’s Day libations in one delicious package.

⭐ Why You’ll Love this Recipe ⭐

Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day – These boozy donuts celebrate not one, but TWO, classic St. Pat’s drinks with both Guinness and Bailey’s Irish Cream.

Easy to Make – Since these donuts are just baked in a donut pan, they are sooo much easier than making fried donuts.

Simple Ingredients – All of the ingredients are pantry staples with the exception of the liquor. The glaze is extra simple with just the Bailey’s, powdered sugar and water.

Versatile – You can serve these as part of a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast, but with all that chocolate goodness topped with that sweet glaze, I also like them as a St. Patrick’s Day dessert.

I’m hoping that eating a few of these yummy donuts this year will will end up giving us the luck of the Irish!

🧾 Ingredients Needed

For the Donuts:

  • Flour – All purpose flower is best.
  • Cocoa Powder gives all the chocolate flavor to your donuts.
  • Baking Powder will make your donuts rise while baking.
  • Guinness Extra Stout – The extra stout is the best option for baking as it gives depth of flavor.
  • Sugar – You’ll need both white sugar and brown sugar. We use light brown, but dark brown is also ok.
  • Butter – We used unsalted. If using salted, just cut the added salt by half.

For the Glaze:

  • Powdered Sugar aka confectioner’s sugar.
  • Bailey’s Irish Cream – Since the frosting isn’t cooked, the alcohol will remain in the glaze, making these adults only treats!
