How did Ezekiel Bread get its name?
The name comes from the Old Testament (Ezekiel 4:9), where the prophet Ezekiel is given instructions from God about preparing a special bread during famine:
“Take for yourself wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt; put them into one vessel, and make bread of them for yourself.”
How does Ezekiel bread differ from Everfresh’s sprouted bread loaves?
Essentially, there is no difference, and unlike some other brands, we at Everfresh ONLY use 100% sprouted organic Wheat, Rye and Spelt grains in our loaves.
What are the benefits of Ezekiel Bread?
Ezekiel bread is a nutritious option because sprouting can increase the availability of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It is a source of complete protein, providing all essential amino acids. Ezekiel bread also has a lower glycemic index than regular bread, which can greatly benefit our customers who need to manage/control their blood sugar levels. As with all traditional Ezekiel breads, ours is free from preservatives, artificial additives, and sugar.
What does Ezekiel Bread taste like?
Ezekiel bread does not contain traditional flour. Instead, it relies on sprouted grains to provide the structure and texture for the bread. As a result, it has a unique flavour and texture. It is denser and more moist than other bread types, with a slightly nutty taste and natural sweetness.
