Frozen Steamed Egg Noodles
DO NOT oversoak
Do not refreeze after thawing
USE within 3-5 days of thawing (unopened)
Do not pull noodles apart before following the instructions below
1. Microwave (900W)
Pierce 1-2 holes in bag and microwaveon full power for 3-5mins (500g) or 8-10 mins (1kg)or until easy to separate.(Microwave ovens may vary;adjust timing accordingly).
Noodles are now ready for use.
OR
2. Thaw in refrigerator
Thaw noodles in refrigerator before followinginstructions(a),(b)or(c).
a)Microwave (900W)
Pierce 1-2 holes in bag and place inmicrowave. Heat on full power for 1-1½ mins(500g) or 1½ - 2 mins (1kg) or until easy to separate. (Microwave ovensmay vary; adjust timing accordingly).Noodles are now ready for use.
b)Blanch
Open bag and submerge noodles in abowl of boiling water. Slowly untangle thenoodles with a fork or chopsticks until separated thenremove from water and strain.Noodles are now ready for use.
c)Boil in bag
Submerge entire packet of sealed noodles in apot of boiling water until noodles are easy toseparate. Empty noodles into a bowl andseparate with a fork or chopsticks.Noodles are now ready for use.
If not using immediately, (a) Run noodles under cold water or (b) lubricate well with vegetable oil to prevent sticking (recommended), before storing away for later use.
Fresh Uncooked Egg Noodles
Cook small amounts at a time (200g) in a large pot of boiling water as noodles need room to move around
to prevent under cooking or clumping DO NOT oversoak
Boil
Bring a large pot of water to a full rolling boil. Open bag andsubmerge loosened noodles in boiling water. Stir quickly and frequently, separating noodles with a fork or chopsticks for1-1½ minutes or until just cooked (similar to concept of 'al dante' ie firm but not hard). Remove from water and immediately place under cold water (to prevent further cooking) thenstrain. Separate any clumping noodles.
Noodles are now ready for use.
Lubricate well with vegetable oil if not usingwithin 10 minutes toprevent sticking (recommended), before storing awayfor later use.
