About the Sutra Mini Vaporizer

The Sutra Mini Vaporizer is a dry herb vaporizer that came onto the scene along with a number of rebrands of Healthy Rips’ Fury vaporizer.

The Fury and its predecessors have been praised for being some of the best dry-herb vaporizers on the market.

While a great vaporizer comes with a great price-tag, the Sutra Mini and other rebrands keep their price affordable. This allows those on a budget to get their hands on a quality device.

Story has it, the creators of the Fury vaporizers didn’t do enough to protect their design. As such, a number of affordable Fury rebrands came along, including the Sutra Mini Vaporizer.

What Is a Dry Herb Vaporizer?

Unlike e-cigarettes, dry-herb vaporizers are used to turn dried flower into vapour.

Tabletop vaporizers like the volcano are popular, but portable options like the Sutra Mini are commonly available too.

Commonly used as a healthier alternative to smoking, portable dry-herb vaporizers are a convenient and handy tool.

First Impressions: The Look and Feel

I’ll be honest, the box looked a lot more professional upon arrival than in the pictures. And once opened, the Sutra Mini itself had a good, solid feel with some weightiness to it.

It didn’t feel cheap. In fact, I’d even say it’s cute! Its compact size means it fits right into the palm of your hand without feeling awkward.

According to Sutra, it’s the smallest they’ve produced at a size of 3×1 inches.

If you’re looking for a discreet vaporizer, the size and black colour of the Sutra will make it easy to go undetected.

What’s Included with the Sutra Mini Vaporizer

Along with the Sutra Mini vaporizer, the box includes:

  • A cleaning brush & tool: great for a quick after session clean
  • 2 silicone caps: high-quality
  • A quartz cup: for concentrates – more on that below
  • A USB charging cable

And of course, a manual is also included that’s pretty easy to follow.

Sutra Mini Vaporizer Pros: What I Liked

After using the Sutra Mini for some months now, I was able to make some decisions.

Easy to use

Whether you’re brand new to cannabis or have been smoking for ages, there’s little to no learning curve on the Sutra Mini vaporizer.

There’s not much to it when it comes to using this dry herb vaporizer. Set your desired temperature, pack it, and off you go. Simply inhale and you’re off to a smooth session.

The Sutra Mini vaporizer heats up quickly, and you can easily adjust and monitor the temperature using the OLED display.

This dry herb vaporizer has a range of 300 to 430 degrees Fahrenheit, making it easy to switch between lighter and stronger sessions.

Easy to pack

Easy to use means it should be easy to pack. And that’s exactly the case with the Sutra Mini vaporizer.

Grind up your dry flower, and sprinkle it into the stainless steel chamber. Gently pack it (not too tight), pop on the mouthpiece, and you’re all set!

Easy to clean

Unlike bongs and pipes, the Sutra Mini vaporizer is super easy to clean. Using the cleaning brush (or other tools) you can give it a quick clean after each session.

If you want a deeper clean, rubbing alcohol and q-tips should do the trick. You can soak the detachable parts like the silicone cap in alcohol, or use q-tips to give your device a clean.

The parts are easily detachable and super easy to put back so it doesn’t take much fussing at all to get the job done. It stays clean for a long time too!

Great performance

Don’t let the size of this little guy fool you. The Sutra Mini packs a punch with your sessions. It’s easy to use, and it’s easy to get blasted too.

The Sutra Mini is classified as a full convection vaporizer, meaning your flower will be heated more evenly. This gives a better overall smoke and a ‘cleaner’ high.

I often find that vaporizing can actually result in a more potent smoke. And when it comes to migraines, straight vapour seems to be the best option.

If you’re a fan of big clouds, you’ll get those too.

Durable

I’ve already dropped this vaporizer a few times. Whether it’s out of my bag or accidentally off a sofa, I can be pretty clumsy. Fortunately, the Sutra Mini vaporizer stands up to my clumsiness.

There’s barely a scratch and the Sutra Mini looks as good as new even after 6-months of regular use.

If you’re looking for a portable vaporizer to take on hikes, or you’re just as clumsy as I am, the Sutra Mini will stand up to many bumps and falls.

Affordable

The main reason I went with the Sutra Mini as my first vaporizer was its price. I’m on a writer’s budget here!

It’s a fraction of the cost of other portable convection dry herb vaporizers and it doesn’t skimp on quality.

In fact, the Sutra Mini is often considered one of the best dry-herb vaporizers available. The main benefit being you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars for it.

You can find the Sutra Mini around the hundred dollar mark (if not less). And it helps that there are other rebrands that work exactly the same! This means you can shop around for one that comfortably fits your budget.

Things to Watch Out for With the Sutra Mini Vaporizer

Considering the points above, the Sutra Mini vaporizer is definitely worth your consideration. That being said, there are some things to watch for.

Battery life

The battery life on the Sutra Mini is one of the biggest complaints about this dry herb vaporizer.

While the battery life hasn’t been terrible to me, if you’re going to be out and about for a while, it might be best to bring a portable battery.

On top of that, Sutra advises that you only charge your Sutra Mini for two hours maximum. This kind of pressure for any stoner is unwelcome.

Not for concentrates

While the Sutra Mini comes equipped with a quartz cup, it’s not the most ideal solution for concentrates.

The Sutra Mini works amazingly with dry-herb but it doesn’t come near that performance with concentrates.

If you’re looking for a vaporizer for shatter, wax, or oils, don’t depend on the Sutra Mini.

Not for group sessions

While you’ll definitely feel medicated after using the Sutra Mini vaporizer, it’s best for short sessions between one or two people.

You can certainly stretch it, but since the chamber is small to fit its compact frame, it won’t be a long session.

If you’re looking for a vaporizer that excels with group sessions, you’ll want to keep on searching.

To Wrap This Up

The Sutra Mini vaporizer is a great dry herb device to have on hand.

While you shouldn’t look to the Sutra Mini for concentrates or long sessions, the performance of this portable vaporizer is well worth the price.

The best part? The Sutra Mini vaporizer won’t leave you broke.
